Terms of Service — Safa Ride

1 Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Safa Ride ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Safa Ride mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2 Description of Service

Safa Ride is a community-driven ride coordination platform that helps mosque attendees arrange shared transportation to and from their local masjid. The Service includes:

Scheduling and joining carpools within your mosque community.
Communicating with other verified community members.
Managing ride preferences and pickup locations.
Receiving notifications related to ride requests and approvals.

Safa Ride does not provide transportation itself; it facilitates coordination between community members who voluntarily offer and request rides.

3 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using Safa Ride, you represent and warrant that:

You are at least 13 years old.
You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
You will use the Service only for lawful, community-minded purposes.
The information you provide is accurate and up to date.

4 User Accounts

To access most features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

Provide accurate, complete, and current information.
Notify us immediately at support@safaride.org if you suspect unauthorized access.
Not share your account with others.
Not create multiple accounts for abusive or deceptive purposes.

5 Community Standards

Safa Ride exists to serve Muslim communities in a spirit of mutual respect and trust. You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or harassing purpose.
Post false, misleading, or defamatory content or ride information.
Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
Use the Service to solicit money, goods, or services beyond voluntary ride cost sharing.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or another user's account.
Transmit spam, malware, or any other harmful code.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent removal from the platform.

6 Rides & Safety

All rides arranged through Safa Ride are between consenting community members. Safa Ride does not vet, certify, or guarantee the driving ability, vehicle safety, insurance status, or character of any user. You acknowledge that:

Participation in any ride is voluntary and at your own risk.
Drivers are solely responsible for operating their vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable traffic laws.
You are responsible for verifying that your vehicle is properly insured before offering rides.
Safa Ride is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from rides arranged through the platform.

7 Mosque Administrator Responsibilities

If you serve as a mosque administrator on the platform, you additionally agree to:

Manage member approvals and requests in good faith and in a timely manner.
Represent your mosque accurately and act in the best interest of your congregation.
Not abuse administrator privileges to target, discriminate against, or exclude community members unfairly.
Comply with all applicable privacy obligations when handling member data visible to you as an admin.

8 Intellectual Property

The Safa Ride name, logo, app design, and all related content are the property of Safa Ride and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

By submitting content (such as messages or profile information) through the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content solely to provide and improve the Service.

9 Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safa Ride and its operators, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, personal injury, or property damage — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11 Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, the community, or us. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.

12 Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

13 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
